I went ahead and bought the Gold Edition to support the developers, as this game definitely has me looking forward to what they can accomplish with more resources. If you’re hesitant about playing this, the PS4 version is currently on PS Now. While definitely not without faults in some areas, it delivers great writing, arguably the most refreshing. The load times, however, are instant on PS5, now, in case you don’t need to wait or make preparations. GreedFall is the best game made by Spiders yet and a worthy RPG in its own right. In between loading said regions, you can make any preparations in a small camp as you wait. Objectives can feel like fetch quests sometimes, but the tediousness of such tasks is alleviated by the world being broken into small regions, similar to Outer Worlds, so traversing doesn’t take long at all. You can experiment with different builds and approaches, as the game gives you several opportunities to reallocate all of your attribute/skill points as you play through. The combat is similar to that of The Witcher 3, but you aren’t as limited to what works against most enemies. Facial animations are stiff, and the voice acting is okay, and although the accents can be corny, they may have a charm to some players. The story won’t blow you away, but it’s still plenty engaging enough to give incentive to advance the main quest. The bugs/glitches are minimal and actually fewer than what I’ve experienced with AAA titles. It still manages to overshadow most of those flaws with its narrative and present a satisfying experience to the players. The bugs/glitches are minimal and actually fewer The developers may not have had a AAA budget for this game, but it is still a solid title. GreedFall is bursting with intrigue, good quest design, and interesting world to support it, but sadly suffers from sluggish controls and lackluster design choices and bugs. Skills like endurance and agility determine what kind of equipment you can carry, and your proficiency in. The developers may not have had a AAA budget for this game, but it is still a solid title. GreedFall is less generous with the points you use for classic roleplaying attributes. * Delve into a mysterious world of magic begin a grand journey and uncover ancient secrets protected by supernatural beings, manifestations of the island's earthly magic. * Complete freedom in character progression play as a male or female, customize your appearance, and freely choose your abilities, spells and skills. * Engage in a core roleplaying experience achieve quests and complete objectives in a multitude of different ways through combat, diplomacy, deception, or stealth. I think GreedFall may be the sleeper hit of the year. With diplomacy, deception and force, become part of a living, evolving world - influence its course and shape your story. Forge this new world's destiny, as you befriend or betray companions and entire factions. With diplomacy, deception and force, become part of a Explore uncharted new lands as you set foot on a remote island seeping with magic, and filled with riches, lost secrets, and fantastic creatures.
